Dear Future Husband music video!!!

Now recently I did a blog post on my other blog about the wonderful Meghan Trainor which you can read here and for this post I wanted to talk about her new music video...

Despite not being a massive fan of Meghan when she first released All About That Bass, I can't deny that she is a very talented and unique sounding singer. With the recent release of her debut album 'Title' I have been listening to a few of the songs and Dear Future Husband immediately jumped out to me.

It is an extremely catchy tune and you really can't help but bop along. The star released the music video for this hit just under a week ago and it has got the world talking. She looks absolutely stunning throughout the 1950s inspired video and has some great outfits. There is a fair bit of sexism which I don't particularly like although there are also lyrics in there which give us a positive message. So although it has confused many fans about the message is is trying to portray it is still a memorable song. Either way I'm sure that it is meant to be lighthearted and enjoyed for the music.

TOP MODEL UK

Exactly a week ago I was lucky enough to have the opportunity through school to go to one of the biggest model competitions in the UK and watch the finals. It is an event run by the wonderful Geoff Cox who is the show producer/ director and we were all invited as VIP's which was pretty snazzy and very cool! It was all to help get experience off what a fashion show is like because Geoff has kindly agreed to help my school run our very own fashion show which I am so excited about and I am very grateful for because it's such a once in a lifetime experience! He is going to be giving us professional help and I generally can't believe how lucky I am to be involved in this huge project at school. Of course it's going to be challenging at times but I think this trip has really inspired us all to get stuck in straight away!

After having the stress and drama of 'OMG WHAT DO I WEAR?' I settled for my jumpsuit with a sensible pair of heels and my black blazer. We set off on the coach all looking very formal and we were in London at the event in no time. It was hosted at the London Hilton Metropole and everything was so fancy...even the toilets. ahaha.

Anyway we all had our glittery VIP wristbands on and went in fairly quickly. We watched three walks all from different designers and they were all incredible! The models were from all across the globe and before the show me and my friends and teacher choose who we thought would win from the list of names on the table. Mine was number 12 Maryna O of Ukraine and I was very happy when I saw how gorgeous she was and how amazing she was. So when she went on to winning the whole thing it made me very happy haha. I really admired all the models because they all did great and it can't be easy walking the runway in just swimwear!

I feel so lucky to have experienced something like this because I love fashion and modelling is something I am interested in. I have done some modelling which has always been fun. None of the photo shoots have ever been professional and they have mainly just been for my friends at school for their art and textiles A level work which they needed help with but I'm going to leave some of my pictures at the bottom of the page if you would like to have a look at a few.

To end I just want to say a massive thank you to Geoff and my school because I feel so grateful to have this opportunity and I truly cant wait to run our own fashion show!

2015 Brit Awards!

Every year I look forward to the Brit Awards because they are one of my favourite nights of the year and 2015's were no different. The evening was live from the o2 Arena in London and we saw a whole array of superb celebrities inside the building on our television screens. The wonderful Ant & Dec hosted the night for the first time in a staggering 14 years and they were absolutely amazing! Read on for my summary and review of the crazy ceremony...

The performances this year were amazing and quite unforgettable. Taylor Swift flawlessly opened the show singing the brilliant Blank Space. Kanye made quite the impression and Ed Sheeran gave a beautiful performance of Bloodstream. Of course, the person everyone is talking about... Madonna. The Queen of pop herself returned to the Brits stage for the first time in 20 years and made quite the return. Despite the tragic tumble she persevered and very professionally carried on with the fantastic performance. She truly is a remarkable woman! Other impeccable and absolutely wonderful acts were the stunning Sam Smith, Paloma Faith, Royal Blood, George Ezra and Take That.

All the winners were incredibly deserving and Sam Smith went away with the most adding more to his award collection! Below is the full list of winners:

British Group- Royal Blood

British Female Solo Artist- Paloma Faith

British Male Solo Artist- Ed Sheeran

International Female Solo Artist- Taylor Swift

British Single- Mark Ronson Ft Bruno Mars: 'Uptown Funk'

International Group- Foo Fighters

Mastercard British Album- Ed Sheeran: 'X'

You can check out who I predicted would be bagging an award right here. It is defiantly worth a look!

I think it is safe to say that British music is absolutely amazing right now and there are some very talented artists who we can look forward to hearing more from in 2015!

Oscars 2015

Last night on the 22nd February the amazing annual Oscars Academy Awards took place and it happened to be the 87th ceremony! It included inspirational speeches, talented performances and some crazy moments...

Neil Patrick HarrisThe night was filled with endless entertainment and to host the evening was the much loved American actor Neil Patrick Harris. Unfortunately his presenting happened to be a bit of a flop with awkward interactions and jokes falling flat. However this did not ruin the night and there were still incredible performances.

Lady Gaga performs songs from The Sound of Music during the 87th Academy Awards in Hollywood, California.Recently engaged Lady Gaga took to the stage and reminded everyone just how talented she really is. She sung a medley of classic Sound of Music songs for the films 50th birthday ending with a huge onstage hug from the very elegant and classy Julie Andrews. Gaga's performance was defiantly the performance of the night. Rita Ora also performed stunningly and impressed the audience with song 'grateful'. Other performances included Adam Levine, Jennifer Hudson, Tim McGraw, Neil Patrick Harris, Tegan and Sara & The Lonely Island and John Legend & Common.

Moving on to the reason that the Oscars exist and that is the awards. So who was honoured an award at one of Hollywood's biggest events of the year? You can click here for the full list of deserving and wonderful winners.

The Oscars are not the only award ceremony happening this week as The Brits will be taking place on Wednesday, I cannot wait!

Florrie! The Rising Star..

Have you heard of Florrie yet? I am predicting big things for this British pop singer- songwriter and drummer in 2015. Florrie was part of the support act for the youtuber tour last year 'Amity Fest'. This was a tour with YouTube superstars such as Zoella, Marcus Butler and Tanya Burr and brought a lot of attention towards Florrie.

She has played live and on record for huge artists such as Girls Aloud, Kylie Minogue and the Pet Shop Boys. Florrie is extremely talented and in 2014 she released her fourth EP 'Sirens'.

Her single 'Too Young To Remember' is defiantly going to become a huge tune in the upcoming weeks and the upbeat song is played regularly now on Radio 1. The music video was released this year and was premiered online by the massive fashion retailer H&M.

You can check out Florrie's Vevo channel here in which she has 2 music videos which you can look at.

I also did a post over on my other blog which I have with 6 other girls in which I wrote about a few other upcoming artists of 2015. Click here to have a cheeky look.

Miley Cyrus: VIVA GLAM

Going glam: Miley joins the likes of Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga, all of whom have worked on the Vivia Glam campaign
Pop sensation Miley Cyrus became the face of the MAC cosmetics 2015 VIVA GLAM campaign last October and her products are now hitting the shelves globally. The VIVA GLAM campaign started back in 1994 has been supported by other wonderful celebs in previous years such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj. The charity campaign is dedicated to 'helping men, women and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS'. Therefore all of the proceeds from sales of the products will go towards the MAC AIDS fund.

The products which are now available are an amazing limited edition lipstick and lip gloss. They are both lovely shades and theres no doubt they will sell out immediately!

Miley is hoping that people wont buy it 'because it has my name on it' but because 'all the money goes to AIDS prevention and awareness'.

I know I will defiantly be heading to my closest MAC store to buy myself the limited edition lipstick or lip gloss and contribute towards this amazing charity as soon as possible!

Visiting Radio 1!

Well on Friday 13th February, I had the amazing opportunity to go to the Radio 1 studios as a runners up prize with some fab people from my school. Molly has already written a blog post about it and why we got to go so it would be great if you could go read hers as well to find out that in more detail! Just click right here. Anyway I thought I would tell you some of my best bits and memories of the day!

Despite the early start I was sooo excited and just couldn't contain my excitement. Not only was I visiting Radio 1 and the BBC studios but I was also going with such fabulous people which just made it perfect. We ended up arriving at the studios at around half 10 and got given name badges which made me feel so cool and official. haha. We were greeted by the loveliest producer called James Clark who looked after us all day and he was literally the best. He took us straight up to the eighth floor where the radio studios are and I was just so amazed. I couldn't actually believe where I was standing. We all got to look where the live lounge performances are recorded and in the studio to the left I saw the perfect Fearne Cotton on air. I was so happy because she is so great and we made eye contact and I think I weed maybe a little bit.
After that we met another producer called Derek and we were told that we were going to have our own little go at being presenters and while he was explaining all this and about the studios, we noticed that Grimmy was sat in the studio right next to us. I was so excited omg. We all just kind off carried on though as James went out the room and spoke to him and then came back. 5 minutes later Grimmy came into the room. Oh it was magical, I think all our faces just lit up, he was so so lovely and chatty and we even got a group photo with him which makes me so happy. It was then quite hard to concentrate on the whole presenting thing which I was absolutely terrified to do because we had to do it on our own but nothing was going to stop me from this once in a lifetime experience and I actually enjoyed it so much. I'm also quite proud of myself because speaking in front of people is not my favourite thing in the world but there was no way I was missing out...

After having lunch at Pizza Express we were then given the BBC studio tour in which we saw the set of The One Show and other cool places like where the news is filmed. The BBC is honestly such an incredible place and I would really recommend going because it is such a fun day out.

To finish the day we had a q&a with James where he let us ask him any any questions. Beforehand, we were waiting outside the studio and I saw Scott Mills on air which was amazing and quite surreal! The q&a was so beneficial because the media is something I defiantly want to have a career in when I am older. James was so helpful and I was so grateful to have him talking to us because he I felt he was a great representative. We even asked what his favourite live lounge performance ever was and he replied with Miley Cyrus. It shocked some people but it honestly didn't surprise me because I love her ahah. We then took many pictures inside the studio and I now have hundreds of pictures in my camera roll!

I really really didn't want to leave but I am so glad and very grateful that I have this memory to look back on. I also just want to say I'm so lucky to go to a school which gives me great opportunities with some of the coolest teachers and people.
